Stories written by Piia Allaway always have got an idea behind them. “It’s not that I wouldn’t enjoy meaningless phrases and stuff sometimes, but I can’t write them.”, and so she’s always trying to clear up misunderstandings and prejudices. For special she wants to clear up the mental illnesses “and stuff.”

Her main topics are schizophrenia and other mental diseases, so as the prejudices against homosexuality and as well often different kinds of occultism and Satanism.

“I just don’t get why so many people are talking such a lame shit about things they don’t know. It’s not that I know everything about anything, but at least I’m talking to people who really do, and I guess that’s just what is making a difference. I’m interested in the themes I write about – as most authors are, for sure – but I’m reading lots of books from the university about themes and stuff, as well I’m having contact with affected persons, so they can tell me about their diseases and opinions. I’m trying to clear up the prejudices and misunderstandings as good as I can, and I’m really, really happy if I see I reached something, if I get mails or letters that tell me about I changed the readers mind. And I’m not just talking shit, I really get such mails.”

So in somehow you can say it’s not just stories she writes.
